Better Civility at Work Helps Retention, Production
I was enjoying brunch last Sunday when a waitress rippedoff her apron, threw it at the Restaurant Manager and screamed—yes screamed—"I quit. I'm sick of being demeaned. I'm sick of everything". There was a collective pause in the restaurant as she turned and walked out. No one spoke and forks were held suspended as the manager rolled the apron in a ball and smirked.
I didn't know the back-story but I was cheering for the waitress based on the manager's response.
